Saint Herman Wonderworker- A Hero Banner for Saint Herman
Saint Herman Wonderworker was sent to Kodiak Island to protect the Native population as they tried to adjust their lives to the influences of Russian fur traders. St. Herman made a refuge at Spruce Island. He built an orphanage, started schools, and introduced gardening and the idea that crops could be stored for consumption in winter.
Her also spoke with animals and sang with angels. Now that is a wonder.
This is my third Saint Herman banner. One is in Kodiak, the other is in California.
The text on the banner reads: Saint Herman Wonderworker. He built orphanages, gardens and schools for Alaska’s Natives. He spoke with animals and angels. His prayers calmed the sea.
